Race Wall rebuild : 2018 - ongoing

Pics and reports on the progress of the race wall rebuild.

In early February 2018 our track race wall (turn 2) was discovered to have suffered severe damage from aging and moisture through the concrete. The descision was made, by Committee, that racing must be susspended until we can make the track safe. President Troy has personally written and delivered some 40 letters of request for support either in-kind or cash as 'sponsorship' for the wall panels. To date we have hade several companies agree to assist - they are listed below as we receive there commitments

Having inspected the wall a committee group determined we needed to replace some 60m of wall. Since then Troy and helpers (thanks include Wideglide Constructions and Newman Low Loaders) have put in many hours to strip the track away from the wall ready to set the moulds in place for a concrete pour.

The main section of wall at turn 2 was formed and poured in 4 sections. Members with help from FRC completed the set up proffesionally and each pour was completed as concrete was available. Moulds were moved and the next section poured. Other minor repairs were done as patches to the wall, thanks FRC for labour and materials.

Patches have been completed around turns 3&4 over the past few years.

March 2022 saw more rain damage to our aging wall at turn 3. With the help of Ahrens & Holcim Concrete wall sections have been replaced
